How are the awards decided?

Spirit of London's Executive Director, Gary Trowsdale explains the strategy for finding the champions of our local communities:

1. PUBLIC NOMINATIONS: Working with a host of partners such as the 33 London Boroughs as well as national and regional media and sponsors, the Spirit of London management team will look to the public to put forward nominations in each awards category.
2. WHO ARE THE LIKELY CANDIDATES: There will be no "usual suspects" as our winners will come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common – Aspiration and ambition. A pride in themselves and a pride in their community. The kind of young people who will always aspire to keep the "great" in Great Britain and the "spirit" in the spirit of London.
3. HOW ARE THE SPIRIT OF LONDON WINNERS FOUND?: The nominations having been pooled together from a unique mix of media research aligned to input from each of the 33 boroughs and their support teams that work in and around their local communities, a short list will be created each Year in each of the categories and then a three man judging panel will sit in judgment on each of them to determine the winners in each category.
