Sean Safo
Nineteen year old athlete Sean Safo-Antwi has the potential to represent the UK at the 2012 Olympics. Growing up with gang culture, Sean was once in the top three of the police most wanted list and never believed it was possible for 'someone like him' to succeed in life. However, he has turned his fortunes around, assisting with the local youth service, studying full time media production and focusing on his athletics. He has represented the UK in both the USA and Russia and trains with top London club Enfield & Haringey.
Sean says "I think I was nominated because I made a dramatic change from being bored, doing nothing on the streets, to becoming a very good athlete, going to college and following my dreams."
Marlon Mellish
Marlon is now one of the best young boxers in the country and on the verge of joining the senior England squad. Seventeen year old Marlon, also volunteers outside of the ring and spoke out against knife crime when friend Ben Kinsella died.
He is a great advocate for boxing as he spends a lot of time motivating young people from different backgrounds and recruiting young gang members to join in with activities at boxing clubs.
Marlon is not just a talented boxer but also a role model to the youth on his estate, taking on classes with the Islington Drug and Alcohol Action Team to educate young people on the effects of drug taking. He is well on this way to lift a medal for Britain in 2012.
Jack Booth
In the summer of 2008, Jack competed in the British Transplant Games in Sheffield where he won three medals for Badminton, Swimming and Ball Throwing - an incredible achievement for someone who had a kidney transplant.
Jack a year 9 student about to embark on his GCSEs, has not allowed his transplant to prevent him from playing the sports he loves. Following his success at the Sheffield games, he went on to represent Britain in the World Transplant Games in Australia, this previous summer and he won gold for Badminton.
